Law Enforcement Apprehends Undocumented Foreign National Following Delmas Farm Robbery
The Mpumalanga police are conducting an investigation into a farm robbery that occurred near the Kusile Power Station, where five armed suspects broke into a property in the early hours of Thursday, August 14.
The suspects allegedly stole a silver Ford Ranger Club Cab, 11 sheep, a blue and black generator, a silver refrigerator, jumper cables, a silver BMW loaded with 50 egg-laying chickens, and five cellphones.
With assistance from a tracking company and Tshenolo PI, officers traced the stolen Ford Ranger, the BMW, and a silver Mazda believed to have been used during the crime along the R42 between Bronkhorstspruit and Delmas.
A high-speed chase ensued, during which the suspects abandoned the BMW.
The pursuit continued into eTwatwa, Daveyton, where the suspects ditched the Ford Ranger containing the stolen livestock. Police later arrested one suspect, identified as an undocumented foreign national who had been driving a Mazda Etude used to obstruct officers during the chase.
Further investigations in Bronkhorstspruit led to the recovery of additional stolen property.
